Week 4-7

It’s been a few weeks! I need to get better at remembering to post! Haha! Well it’s been quite the adventure! So Since the last time I blogged a lot has happened! The most exciting is when Elder David A. Bednar came to BYU-I to speak at our devotional. It was so cool and so uplifting. It’s not very often that you get to sit in the same room as a general authority and have them speak to you! It was such a neat experience.IMG_1413

I also had the opportunity to go to the temple with my relief society. That was also a neat experience. The temple is so beautiful and I feel so blessed to have it so close. It is literally up the street from my apartment. I love the blessing we receive from going to the temple and I love being able to do service and help bring families closer together. IMG_1446

I decorated my apartment! I was tired of it looking super boring and Valentine’s day was coming up. So I went to the craft store and bought stuff to decorate our place. It feels like home now 🙂 IMG_1501IMG_1502IMG_1507

So this past weekend I took a girls trip to Utah! Oh man it was so fun to get out of small town Rexburg for a few days. I went with my friends Megan, Sophia, and Gina. We stayed with my great-uncle in Lindon, and on Saturday we did SO much! We went to the Provo City Center Temple open house. But the line was super long, so we just took pictures and then went back later in the evening when the line was shorter. Then we went up to Salt Lake City! We just HAD to stop at the high school where they filmed High School Musical. We spent a good amount of time taking pictures there. Then we had Chipotle for lunch. It was my first time, and it sure won’t be the last. It was so danged good. Mexican food is my all time favorite. After lunch we went to Temple Square. It is so beautiful! The sun was starting to go down at that point, so the lighting was just so pretty hitting the temple. Then we went to Deseret Book. I was in heaven. I could be in that store for hours and never get bored! After Temple Square we went back to Provo open house. The line was MUCH shorter. Wow that temple is so pretty. We couldn’t leave Provo without going to the BYU creamery! It was delicious of course.

Sunday we went to sacrament meeting with my uncle (after getting lost twice) and then we made a pit-stop in Herriman to take pictures in front of the real-life Up house. That place is so cute. I want to live there. And I couldn’t leave Utah without stopping by and saying hi to one of my favorite missionaries! We made it back to Rexburg safely and I just want to relive that weekend again! Here are our pictures!IMG_1545IMG_1561IMG_1567IMG_1572IMG_1573IMG_1606FullSizeRenderIMG_1636IMG_1637IMG_1638FullSizeRender (1)IMG_1628IMG_1629IMG_1631IMG_1656IMG_1665IMG_1675IMG_1679

I’m excited to see what this next week brings:) xox0

Week 1, 2, & 3

Hello All! This is my very first blog, so please bear with me as I figure this whole thing out!

Like most of my friends, I wanted to start a blog about my adventures here in Idaho! Let me just say so far it’s been so great and I absolutely LOVE it! I want to start at the very beginning, which was the drive out here! We left Friday afternoon on January 2nd. We stopped at a NASTY super sketch motel in Missouri. It was so gross guys I’m not exaggerating. I slept with my hood on my head so I wouldn’t have to touch the pillow. My mom slept with a shower cap on her head for the same reason. But hey, memories right?

Our next stop was in Wyoming. We stayed in Cheyenne. So there’s not much to see in Southern Wyoming, but it is BEAUTIFUL. Especially up in Jackson Wyoming! We stayed there the next night and I know I said this before, but dang it is beautiful! Here are some pictures of our visit to Wyoming. IMG_1140

See? Beautiful!

Then we finally made it to Rexburg! That’s when the nerves and anxiety set in. Hardcore. I began to feel so sick to my stomach and it was awful. I spent the first night trying not to hurl! I think I only got an hour and a half of sleep.

Then Tuesday it only got worse. I was so close to going home. But then I received a blessing from my dad and cousin who is here.  Miracles are REAL people! I felt better and I was ready for the first day of classes. It was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done to say goodbye to my parents.  But I know that this is where I’m supposed to be right now.

School has been so good so far. It’s definitely been a transition getting back into the swing of things. I’ve been graduated from high school for 2 years, so it’s been awhile since I’ve had to do homework or studying.  But if I’m being honest, I’m enjoying it! I love having a schedule and having responsibility.

Wednesday was my friend Megan’s birthday, so we went out to dinner and had a blast! I love this new college life.

So then Saturday I went to a CRAZY party with my friend Emma! I had no idea what to expect when I walked in. It was a huge rave/mosh pit. I had a good time, but I don’t think I want to go to a party like that again. At least not for a while. I had no hearing in my right ear for 3 days! Oh and I went crowd surfing! I don’t think I’ve had so many people touch my rear in my life. Haha! Also a one time deal.

Don’t get me wrong though, I had a blast!!!!

So then school just happened. I’ve gone to classes, and hung out with friends. I’m adjusting pretty well and I’m so thankful that I have so many friends here to be with and to support each other. And lets be honest, Idaho is gorgeous!

Until Next week! xoxo
